I can remember Craig as a pupil at Acton - he was always polite and respectful and he worked hard at
his studies. I was always hoping Craig would do well in life, he seemed to be the kind of kid who
would overcome the social deprivation and other personal hurdles that kids in Acton face. The fact
that Craig never involved himself in the gang mentality was testament to his strength of character
and his love for his mum.
Craig did not deserve to die in this way - if the idiots who killed him have any self-respect at all
they'll turn themselves in to the police, instead of hiding away like cowards.
I was shocked when I read the news at the school I teach at in Canada. A colleague of mine looked at
the news and remarked that Craig looked like a nice kid. Craig was a nice kid, and there was every
chance he would have grown into a nice adult had he not been robbed of his life in such a tragic and
senseless way.
My thoughts are with Craig's family - I can't begin to imagine how they must feel right now. Of all
the kids on the estate, Craig was one of the best. Rest in peace Craig.
